GO Fare Calculator: Mississauga to Union Station
Pick your station and how many days a month you ride. You get the one-way fare, the round trip, and what a full month costs once GO's PRESTO discounts kick in. Fares are the ones GO Transit's trip planner returned on October 7, 2026.
The same 40 trips on single tickets would cost $286.00. PRESTO saves you $71.20 this month.
How your month adds up
All nine stations, side by side
Adult fares with PRESTO, and a month of 20 round-trip days.
| Station | Line | One way | Return | Month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Port Credit | Lakeshore West | $6.02 | $12.04 | $214.80 |
| Clarkson | Lakeshore West | $7.45 | $14.90 | $265.80 |
| Dixie | Milton | $6.02 | $12.04 | $214.80 |
| Cooksville | Milton | $6.02 | $12.04 | $214.80 |
| Erindale | Milton | $7.45 | $14.90 | $265.80 |
| Streetsville | Milton | $8.25 | $16.50 | $294.35 |
| Meadowvale | Milton | $8.75 | $17.50 | $312.15 |
| Lisgar | Milton | $9.34 | $18.68 | $333.20 |
| Malton | Kitchener | $7.32 | $14.64 | $261.15 |
GO counts your rides on one card through the calendar month and steps the price down as the count climbs. For an adult, trips 1 to 35 cost the normal PRESTO fare, trips 36 to 40 are 88.3% off the ticket price, and every trip after that is free. Twenty round-trip days is 40 trips, which is why a full-time commuter pays for 35 full fares and not 40.
Calculation basis: GO Transit fares between each station and Union Station, read from GO's trip planner on October 7, 2026, and GO's published PRESTO monthly discount steps. It assumes the same trip every time, on the same card. This is an estimate from published fares, not a statement from PRESTO. For any other pair of stations, useGO's own trip planner.
How GO fares from Mississauga work
GO does not charge a flat fare. It charges by how far you travel, in bands, so three stations in the city cost exactly the same to Union and the farthest costs about half as much again. What catches most commuters out is the month: ride often enough on one card and GO stops charging you partway through it.
Nine stations, six prices
With PRESTO, an adult pays $6.02 one way from Port Credit, Dixie or Cooksville, $7.32 from Malton, $7.45 from Clarkson or Erindale, $8.25 from Streetsville, $8.75 from Meadowvale and $9.34 from Lisgar. The fare is the same in both directions, on weekdays and weekends, and whether the trip is on a GO train or a GO bus.
These were read from GO Transit's own trip planner on October 7, 2026, one station at a time. GO does not change fares on a fixed date, so if a number here stops matching your PRESTO statement, GO's planner is the one to trust.
For scale, the shortest hop on the network, such as Cooksville to Dixie, is $3.70 with PRESTO.
The same ride costs 15.7% less on a card
A single ticket, bought as an e-ticket or on paper, is the full adult price: $7.15 from Cooksville against $6.02 on PRESTO. GO states the discount as 15.7% off the single-ride fare for an adult's first 35 trips in a month. A credit or debit card tapped on the PRESTO reader, or a card in your phone's wallet, pays the same adult fare as a PRESTO card.
Seniors 65 and over save 55% with PRESTO, and youth aged 13 to 19 and full-time post-secondary students save 40%. Both need a PRESTO card set to that fare type. Children 12 and under ride free and need no ticket.
After trip 35 the price drops to pocket change
GO counts your one-way rides on one card through each calendar month. For an adult, trips 1 to 35 are charged the normal PRESTO fare, trips 36 to 40 are 88.3% off the ticket price, and trip 41 onward is free. From Cooksville that is $6.02, then $0.82, then nothing.
Youth and students reach the reduced fare sooner, at trip 31. Seniors pay their fare for 40 trips and then ride free. Two conditions apply to everyone. The count resets on the first of the month, and it builds on one form of payment: split your rides between a PRESTO card and a bank card and neither count reaches 35.
The tool assumes the same trip every time. GO says that when your trips vary within the month, the discount from trip 36 on is based on the value of the trips you have taken, so a mixed month will not match this to the cent.
Cooksville, five days a week: $214.80
Take an adult riding from Cooksville on 20 days a month. That is 40 one-way trips. The first 35 cost $6.02 each, or $210.70. The next 5 cost $0.82 each, or $4.10. The month comes to $214.80, where 40 full PRESTO fares would be $240.80 and 40 single tickets would be $286.00.
Ride two more days and the bill does not move. Trips 41 to 44 are free, so 22 days also costs $214.80. That ceiling is 35 full fares plus 5 reduced ones. From Lisgar it is $333.20.
A hybrid worker on 12 days makes 24 trips, never reaches trip 36, and pays 24 full fares: $144.48 from Cooksville.
One Fare makes the bus to the station free
Ontario's One Fare program makes the transfer between MiWay and GO free. Tap onto the bus, then tap on and off the train with the same card, and the MiWay fare is not charged. The same applies at the other end, where a TTC ride from Union is covered too.
It needs a tapped card: a PRESTO card, PRESTO in a phone wallet, or a credit or debit card, and the same one for the whole trip. GO e-tickets are not eligible, which is one more cost of buying tickets one at a time. The time limits on a free transfer are in the MiWay fare guide.
Free if you find a space, $98 a month to have one held
All nine stations have free customer parking, first come, first served, for up to 48 hours at a time. A reserved space costs $98 a month including HST, with a six-month minimum term, and you pay for the full month whether or not you use it. Tick the box in the tool to add it to your month.
GO also issues free carpool permits for marked spaces. They are valid before 9:30 a.m. on weekdays, on days you arrive with at least one passenger.
One destination, one kind of month
This tool prices trips to and from Union Station. For any other pair of stations, GO's trip planner gives the fare. It leaves out the $10 weekend day pass and the weekday group passes, which can beat these fares on an occasional trip, and it does not model the charge GO applies when you forget to tap off.
The driving comparison uses whatever daily figure you type in. It adds nothing for insurance, maintenance or depreciation, so it understates what a car costs. The real cost of owning a car in Mississauga covers those.
For parking rules, the ways to pay and a commuter checklist, read the GO Transit commuter cost guide.
If you ride GO more than a couple of days a week, pay with one PRESTO card or one bank card and stick to it. The discount on each ride is 15.7%, but the bigger saving comes at the end of the month, when rides 36 to 40 cost $1.26 or less from any of these stations and every ride after that is free.
